An Essay Writing Competition was launched by UNDP Turkmenistan and Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan on 30 November 2021. It is dedicated to International Human Rights Day, 10.12.
Participants included students from Turkmenistan who studied international law. Their written work covered topics like: international human right law, international and domestic mechanisms to protect human rights, international collaboration in the area of human droits, and implementation at national level of international laws.
Members of various Ministries and organizations of Turkmenistan, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Adalat, Turkmen State University, Turkmen State University, Institute of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International University for Humanities and Development, Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, and UNDP representatives, formed the jury of this contest.
The jury declared the winners based on the contest results.
The following students are eligible for the 1st-place award:
Aybolek Amangeldiyeva, Institute of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkeymenistan
Chary Rahmanov is the name of the Turkmen State University that was named after Mahtumkuli.

This contest was held within the UNDP three-year project “Assistance to the Implementation of Turkmenistan’s National Action Plan in the Area of Human Rights for 2021-2025”. It was jointly implemented with the Institute of State, Law, and Democracy of Turkmenistan. The goal of this project is to increase knowledge about human rights among Turkmenistan students.
